Yellowstone Continued Twice [Day 6: Still Saturday]

After lunch, we visited the highlight spring and geyser spots. Drive, stop, get out, walk around, get back in, drive. Bacteria is pretty. That and certain scattered light of the visible spectrum.

what can I say? rock on.
looks like ice, don’t it? hotter than boiling water.
surreal sky
bluegreen goodness
the whole barren splay. I think buffalo come here to die.

Yellowstone Continued [Day 6: Saturday]

If you haven’t been previously tracking with this, this is part of the trip I took with my youth group to Montana for service work, and this is the return leg of the trip through Yellowstone National Park.

While driving, we saw quite a bit of wildlife. Traffic was often stopped for it, people pulling over, gawking like they’ve never seen an animal before. I snapped a few pictures, but through the window, they didn’t turn out too well.

bear.

bison.

We took a walk around some natural springs. The first location had a circular wooden path, with the terraced mineral deposits. Don’t step off the wood platform. Otherwise you could end up like the little screamy boy on the picture.

little screamy boy.

We had fun trying to check the translations on that sign. Heh, is that weird? We jumped back in the vans and went off to lunch.

The Trip Continued - Yellowstone [Day 6: Saturday] Pt 1

We took off in the morning to go through Yellowstone National Park. I took too many pictures, but over the course of the next couple days, I’ll show the best ones. If you ask, I’ll even send you a video of the waterfall in the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, or a sideways one of Old Faithful going off.

This is the view from the first lookout point just inside the Northeast entrance.

This too.

it was swarming with chipmunks for some reason

Maybe the End is Upon Us...

I feel unnerved. Is this it?
I just finished watching Gia. I was in a weird enough mood before I started, but that is a depressing movie. I’m inches away from physically shuddering.
Its dark and windy outside. Flashes in the sky, huge, booming, rolling thunder. A big crack just now, it must be overhead. I’m thinking that is tomorrow comes, I’d like to get hit by lightening.
To nurse my psyche, like an alcoholic his craving, I put on Teardrop by Massive Attack, followed by The Day the Whole World Went Away by Nine Inch Nails. I didn’t even think of the title, just the sound of the song. How ironic now that I stop to think about it.
Earthquake in Japan, floods in Romania, HIV in the population, bombings everywhere, what haven’t I heard about? What’s next?
It was nice knowing you.
There flickers the power.
I'm out for a walk.
