If the Friday after Thanksgiving is black...
Just the night before was the first snow! It was so minimal that it was all melted by morning, but at least it happened.
Had a good time this weekend with some extended family. Shared thanksgiving dinner, and a couple nights at a cabin in the woods.
The cabin in all its boarded-up, perspective-skewed glory.
Complete with a separate luxury out-house. |
I built this here fire.
If you know me, then you know I'm a pyromaniac. I think it runs in the family. At Thanksgiving dinner, my uncle showed me how to make a mini flame-thrower out of a clementine (YES! CLEMENTINE, MMM!) peel.
I also left some permanent scorch marks/craters in the carpet and on the couch. Can't be helped when tossing another log into the inferno. Playful little embers.
The feeling of being around a bunch of people who are essentially strangers, yet somehow related, some by blood, others by marriage, is a unique one. Things are supposed to be different around family right? Meeting family, making friends with family members for the first time... Not to mention that now I'm at the age where I'm no longer always considered one of the 'kids' underfoot. Get to/(have to?) mix with everybody.
Some of the return trip and other randomness tomorrow.

if the circumstance ever arises, and you remind me, i'll be sure to show you.
did that exclamation have something to do with memory erasing, hair dye, and snowy beaches?
[remind us to watch it]
